Dianna Nixon was engaged by the National Gallery of Australia to assemble a group to learn and improvise the actualisation of the work of Indonesian artist, Duto Hardono. The group spent a day and a half with Duto at the Gallery learning the ‘rules’ of his piece. We’ve since actualised the work multiple times over the weekend of the opening of the Contemporary Worlds exhibition, and we will pop up at the NGA every 2 weeks on Saturday mornings 11am till midday – starting from Sat 6th July.
Those who’ve witnessed this new artwork, acquired by the NGA in 2018, have described it in various ways. This is a nice one:
“It was absolutely beautiful…an ocean of sound.”
Come find us. Just listen and that will lead you.
